Why Us?
Owners Frank and Jackie Garguilo.
In our 15 years of existence, we have become nationally known for our unwavering commitment to traditional yoga systems, an impeccably maintained studio environment, a highly stable and elite teaching staff, and a thriving and dedicated student community.
We are located in the vibrant beach community of Long Beach, NY, just a 48-minute train ride from Midtown Manhattan. Though our beach location is a destination in and of itself, our studio has become a haven for serious practitioners and elite teachers alike. While we have a very friendly, local vibe, we have some of the most distinguished teachers in New York on permanent staff and a very strong community of longtime yoga students. Many people make it a point to take class here when they are visiting NYC from around the world (and everyone makes a point to make visitors and new people feel welcomed). Our studio is very much a yoga school where people from all walks of life come to learn. It’s often been referred to as the “gold standard” for serious hot yoga practice in the Long Island and New York region.
We’re not trendy, and we’re OK with that. There are nine internationally recognized forms of yoga. We offer six of them in their purest form. We have a true, classical original hot yoga (“Bikram” or “26&2”) program without any hybridization or dilution, and we are very proud that we are the only yoga studio on Long Island that offers two 90-minute Bikram classes per day. Our non-Bikram program is just as robust and disciplined. We offer a led primary Ashtanga series twice a week in the early morning. It is rare for a Bikram-oriented studio to also offer traditional Ashtanga classes with teachers who studied in Mysore, India. We also offer vinyasa yoga, Jivamukti yoga, hatha yoga, and nightly yin yoga. Our schedule is always consistent, stable, and logical.
Our owners are here day in and day out. Running this studio is their only job. They teach class, take class, and do all of the background work themselves. This studio is their life, and they work hard to create an atmosphere that is welcoming, structured, and deeply community-oriented.
First responders, military veterans, plumbers, electricians, construction workers, teachers, professors, doctors, dentists, nurses, artists, actors, musicians, financiers, lawyers, fitness instructors, chefs, professional surfers, and high school athletes are just some of the people you’ll meet in class with you!
Come see for yourself. There’s nowhere like it, we assure you.
